We are renowned for the well-kept quality of our real ales which are always from the West Country. We always have four on offer: Palmer’s IPA, Palmer’s Copper Ale, Jail Ale from The Princetown brewery and a guest ale from either O’Hanlon’s, Otter, Cotleigh, Teignworthy or Butcombe. We also have local scrumpy on draught together with the usual lagers and Guinness.

There are always 5 wines available by the glass – two Chilean reds, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, a Chilean Chardonnay, a French Sauvignon Blanc and an Italian Pinot Grigio Rosé. In addition we have a comprehensive wine list for red and white wines. See below

Real Ales

palmers ipa

Palmers Best Bitter

If you like a full-drinking, well-balanced beer (4.2% ABV) with a delicious hop character, brewed with classic English malted barley, then Palmers Best Bitter (Traditional IPA) is for you. This best bitter, which is cask-conditioned and also available bottled, just continues to get more and more popular.

Palmers Copper Ale

Enjoy this delightfully light, refreshingly fruity and hoppy beer (3.7% ABV) that’s brewed traditionally using the finest quality Maris Otter malted barley and Golding hops.

Jail Ale

This is a full bodied mid-brown beer with a well rounded flavour and a sweet Moorish aftertaste.

Otter Bright

In the past we brewed Otter Bright only in the summer. With the new dawn of interest in cask beer, it is perfectly positioned as a great beer for ‘new age drinkers’ who are discovering cask ale. It is so palethat it can easily be mistaken for lager and it delivers a great bitter citrus flavour with lots of fizz.

White Wines

Lovely balance of ripeness, varietal purity and finesse. Fragrant rose-petal and grapefruit aromas with a hint of sweet spice, quite rich but with lychee, spicy juicy fruit and acidity combining well to the finish.

£24.95 Albarino, Bodegas Lagar de Besada, Galicia (Spain)

A zesty, limey and pineapple nose. With bright peaches, apple fruit on the palate. A firm backbone of acidity which keeps the wine structured & just enough fleshiness to give a flattering mid palate

£18.95 Chardonnay, Soldiers Block, NSW (Austrailia)

Lightly oaked with good acidity with peaches, melons and citrus characters. This vibrant Chardonnay exhibits lifted fruit character, textural mouthfeel, a bright palalte and a long and foody finish.
